Propulsion Development Engineer
Job Description
As part of a small team The Propulsion Development Engineer will be responsible for the development of a rocket propulsion system meeting the requirements of Blue Origin's launch vehicle programs.
Responsibilities:
- Design, analysis, fabrication, testing, and mission support of launch vehicle fluid systems
- Design, analysis, testing, and integration of fluid components and thrusters
- Specification and procurement of fluid components
- Management of subcontractors
- Assisting with schedule and cost estimation
- Identifying opportunities for safety improvements and cost savings
Qualifications:
Required
This position requires at least a BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 7 or more years of experience in the specifying, designing, development, procurement, and testing of aerospace fluid systems. Working knowledge of thrusters, regulators, check valves, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic valves, actuators and other fluid system components is necessary. Applicants should be able to demonstrate technical expertise in development and fluids analysis and have detailed knowledge of a variety of fluid components and systems. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, permanent resident, refugee or asylee.
Desired
- Familiarity with CAD/CAE applications and other modeling tools.
