Export Control Administrator

Program Management

DESCRIPTION: As part of a small team, you will assist with implementing the company’s export compliance policies and providing export control guidance to company employees.
  • Respond to regulatory questions and provide appropriate guidance
  • Assist with identifying export control issues and developing effective and compliant solutions
  • Assist with reviewing and drafting internal export control policies
  • Classify hardware and technical data according to the U.S. Commerce Control List (CCL) and the U.S. Munitions List (USML)
  • Assist with drafting and submitting classification requests, advisory opinions, and applications to U.S. government agencies for authorizations to export hardware, services and technical data
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory requirements and U.S. government authorizations 
  • Assist with developing and administering export compliance training
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and assist with updating internal policies to align with changes
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years’ experience in an export compliance role  
  • Expert understanding of the International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the  Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Experience drafting applications to U.S. government agencies for export authorization 
  • Strong English-language communication skills, both written and spoken 
  • Self-starter mentality, ability to work independently, take action and deliver results, exercising high level judgement in the absence of explicit direction
  • Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident alien
  • Experience working in a large aerospace company and/or an engineering-development organization
  • Experience with export classification of space launch vehicle parts and components 
  • Working understanding of the Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR)
  • Familiarity with European and/or other export control laws and regulations
