DESCRIPTION:  As part of a versatile team you'll work on design, development, verification, and field testing of launch facility software for both ground systems equipment and flight operator consoles.  Our team’s responsibility is supporting flight operations through propellant loading and launch while also providing the most in-depth visualization of data to the engineering teams. You'll participate in software development and verification that supports safety critical systems by adhering to coding standards, participating in code reviews, and integrated testing. This hands-on position requires an understanding of test-driven development and a commitment to quality with attention to detail in support of human space flight.
  • Develop software for both real-time field control systems as well as desktop graphics-oriented control consoles
  • Develop software for display of streaming data for situational awareness
  • Software development on both Windows7 and Linux-type RTOS
  • Analyze requirements to develop test strategies to assist in verification efforts
  • Create and use test tools and processes
  • Work with facility design engineers to develop software requirements, designs, and control interfaces
  • Participate in field tests of ground systems and support launch operations
  • Develop and adhere to software configuration management processes
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in computer science/engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information
  • 5+ years system development/integration and test experience
  • Strong software development skills, particularly in C++
  • Strong software test skills
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work either independently or as part of a team on rapid development programs
  • Able to identify problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • M.S. Degree in engineering field
  • Experience developing and testing real-time embedded systems, gaming systems, control systems, device drivers, or mobile devices
  • Familiarity with sensors and actuators, including pressure or temperature sensors and valve actuation
