DESCRIPTION: As part of a unique and highly-skilled team, you will develop and manage collaborative supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost and schedule objectives are met and properly managed.  
  • Assure suppliers conformance with Blue Origin’s Purchase Order, Quality Management System, Technical Data Requirements and Terms and Conditions 
  • Conduct Supplier Readiness Reviews to establish that the supplier’s planned operation meets Blue Origin’s capability expectations
  • Conduct supplier assessments to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
  • Analyze quality performance measures, identify trends and take effective corrective action to continuously drive improvement in the supply base
  • Work with Procurement to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
  • Establish part inspection capability in the supply base to ensure that technical features are in conformance prior to shipment 
  • Collaborate with functional teams to strategically source parts matched with supplier competencies
  • Develop long-term supplier relationships
  • Champion the resolution of technical issues in the supply base in a timely manner that ensures all requirements are met while assuring continuity of supply
  • Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule
  • Review and approve critical process monitoring plans
  • Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base
  • Implement and monitor part approval process 
  • Provide transparency to Blue Origin management on supplier readiness and capability
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in quality, engineering, or purchasing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Audit experience (Internal/Supplier)
  • Experience in inspection systems required to validate aerospace quality requirements
  • Travel to supplier locations to resolve problems, up to 50% of the time
  • Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident alien
  • Ability to  collaborate with diverse groups of people 
  • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office applications  
  • Proven experience in project management and successful track record leading large project management initiatives
  • Strong business acumen
  • Knowledge of various quality system methodologies Lean, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, etc. preferred
