Program Integration

DESCRIPTION:  As part of a small team, you’ll provide technical expertise and analytical solutions to support the development of new Launch & space vehicles, and related test/launch facilities.  You’ll need proficiency in Coupled Loads Analysis, building/validating finite element models, structural/dynamic testing, and the ability to piece together fragments of incomplete information, formulate hypotheses, identify root-cause, and recommend solutions to complex dynamic problems.  Working independently on advance development projects, you’ll find your excellent collaboration and communication skills are an essential part of the job.
 
Responsibilities
  • Coupled Loads Analysis
  • Structural Bending Modes Analysis
  • Finite Element Model development/refinement/validation/execution/postprocessing
  • Model reduction by Modal Synthesis (Craig-Bampton or comparable method)
  • Rigid and flexible body dynamics (supported and free-free)
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Required:
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering
  • 5+ years of experience and a passion for launch vehicle Coupled Loads Analysis and related finite element model creation/validation
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline team and provide technical guidance and insight
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien 
Desired:
  • Experience solving a variety of complex problems using a combination of analysis and hands-on testing 
  • Experience with the following commercial software tools is seen as a plus: NASTRAN, FEMAP, HYPERMESH, ANSYS, C/C++, DMAP, IMAT, FORTRAN, Matlab
