DESCRIPTION:  As part of a small team, you'll design, develop and test valves and other fluid system components for launch vehicles.  This hands-on position involves you in all aspects of the design, assembly, test and flight operations of launch and aerospace vehicle fluid components and systems.  
 
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the entire design cycle of valves and fluid system components including conceptual and detailed design, thermo-fluid modeling, structural analysis, development testing and qualification
  • Generate component and assembly drawings with application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
  • Create documentation for assembly and testing of development and flight hardware
  • Participate in fluid component and subsystem level testing including planning, execution, data reduction and analysis
  • Develop project development plans, schedules and cost estimates
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle fluid system component design
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E preferred)
  • Experience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5)
  • Detailed knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, and fittings
  • Experience with leak and flow testing of hardware using cryogenic fluids and high pressure gases
  • Knowledge of fabrication and quality control relative to machined components
  • Working knowledge of materials and treatments
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien
 
Desired:
  • Knowledge in the use of FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferred)
  • Familiar with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.41
