Florida Investment Matches Our Ambitious Growth Plans
Blue Origin now employs nearly 4,000 people in Brevard County and has invested over $2.3 billion with 500 suppliers in Florida, generating significant economic growth and employment in the region. We're currently the only company manufacturing and launching rockets in Cape Canaveral, contributing to the development of additional skillsets in the growing technical workforce of Florida.
Our manufacturing and operations footprint has more than doubled in eight years to 11 sites across Brevard and Orange Counties, including Merritt Island, Cape Canaveral, Titusville, Melbourne, and Orlando, as we build a road to space for the benefit of Earth. This represents an investment of more than $3 billion in facilities and infrastructure, including rebuilding historic Launch Complex 36 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Our expansion in Florida is driven by increased customer demand and the growth of our efforts with NASA to return humans to the Moon. We’re rapidly scaling our lunar program to ensure NASA has the hardware necessary for landing cargo and crew on the Moon and Mars.
One of the highlights of our expanded footprint is the newly opened Lunar Plant 1, home to the Blue Moon Mark-2 (MK2) Lunar Lander and Transporter. Both vehicles are in development for NASA’s Human Landing System program. Located in Rocket Park, our state-of-the-art manufacturing complex near Kennedy Space Center, Lunar Plant 1 houses MK2's assembly, integration, and testing facilities, and is one of three new buildings to open or undergo construction this year alone. Transporter is also integrated and tested in the facility. It can carry 100 metric tons of fuel from Earth's orbit to the Moon’s orbit, and 30 tons of fuel from Earth to Mars. This new facility expands upon a second facility in Cape Canaveral, Lunar Plant 2, where the first two single launch Blue Moon Mark-1 (MK1) cargo lunar landers are in development.
Next up in Rocket Park: A new chemical processing facility will be completed this fall, in addition to an expansion of our main assembly building to accommodate two more automated fiber placement machines for New Glenn payload fairing and adapter production.
In addition to employee growth and expanded manufacturing capabilities in the region, we remain focused on investing in the next generation. Blue Origin’s STEAM-focused nonprofit, Club for the Future, has reached nearly 700,000 students and 55,000 educators in Florida since 2019 through outreach, curriculum, programming, and partnerships.
